Proven Hose and Fittings For Connecting Pumps and Filters
To connect pumps, filters and other equipment you'll need hose and clips or you could buy one of our complete kits. Picking the right size hose is easy. Pick the biggest hose that will fit your pump (outlet) or filter (inlet) to maximise water flow. Other fittings should always be the same size as the hose, so if you have 25mm hose you need 25mm clips, taps etc. More gardening products that will suit your need and pocket here...
Always avoid kinks in hose connected to a pump outlet or a pond filter outlet to make sure you get the maximum flow from a pump and don't overflow the filter.
The best type of hose to use in pond situations is ribbed hose which doesn't kink.
In general terms it always best to use widest diameter pipe possible and to make sure the length is as short as possible. Avoid T pieces, bends and all other connections if possible.
